I would give this place zero stars if that were an option. I was there today to purchase some sinking algae wafers for my Nerite snail. My son was with me and nearly vomitted from the stench that smacks you in the face as you walk inside. The store itself isn t fit for a sewer rat to inhabit, and that s being kind. Two things that disturbed me the most- you can hardly see the fish in their tanks because of the build up of algae and just plain scum. One tank even had a large growth of white mold on the outside. Dc pet Center Is a good store to look at animals they have some different kinds but they do put female and males together In a cage and they do have thier small animals in wired cages.But other then that it is a good store and have good service.
I wouldnt even give this place a star for the simple fact I bought a boxer puppy off of them for \$500.00. I took it to THEIR VET, and the vet thought I was the one not feeding it and mistreating it. A week later the dog died! Now common \$500 for a dog that I dont even have. NOT including VET COSTS. They should be shut down!
This store needs to be shut down immediately! They do not take proper care of any of their animals. They put males and females of each species together - watch out for pregnancy! Their puppies are in glass enclosures, and their small animals in wire cages - not good for their little feet. Who cares about prices?! If you support animal rights - do not support this store. There is no way that they are up to par.
This place definately has the best prices around. Unlike the other Big retail places the people that work there are very knowledgable.
I agree w/the other person who wrote a review on this pet store. It is in deplorable condition. The dogs are in a glass case with wood shavings that you would use to house a rabbit. They dont even look healthy. I cant speak for others, but I have known a few ppl who have bought a puppy from there only to get it home and find out it is ill. I think this place should be investigated b/c it definitely cannot be up to code standards that need to be enforced at pet stores.
