Big shoutout to the crew at Cycle City Vancouver. I ride a fixie, which I love… but apparently my chains do not love me back. I’m now on chain number three since getting the bike in 2020, so either I’m putting down serious power or my bike is politely asking me to chill. Today, the chain decided it had enough. But here’s the best part. If your chain is ever going to snap, having it happen literally right in front of a bike shop feels like the universe giving you a wink. Karma points cashed in. Highly recommend Cycle City and a full bike around Vancouver. While I generally would not feel safe cycling around any major city in North America, Vancouver would be the exception. Biking in Vancouver is an excellent way to explore the city safely – via the city’s substantial and beautiful dedicated bike lanes which are typically divided from the main driving roads by concrete barriers. If you are on the fence, just do it! It is a blast. We opted for the e-bike (first ever using) and it was definitely worth a few extra buck... read more
