Losing my right eye was so traumatic but working with Jim at Custom Ocular Prosthetics has been wonderful! He's caring and aims to meet my concerns, using his artistry to design the perfect prosthetic lens It's been a blessing that he travels tto my town to see patients. I highly recommend Custom Ocular Prosthetics to anyone requiring a beautiful prosthetic eye/lens.
When I was 7, stepped of the school bus, the older kids started batting gravel from the road, and one hit me in the eye at extreme speed. After surgery, I was given 2 brochures. I chose Custom Ocular Prosthetics because the brochure had people smiling. The brochure had shown people of all ages. I contacted the number and Jim responded immediately. He had set up an appointment while being in a complete different location. I had to reschedule he worked with me on a new date. Jim is the Best! He has been traveling to Interior Alaska for many years and takes care of all of our lenses. He really cares how comfortable we are with his products.
The first time I heard the expression "scleral shell” came after suffering through 5 surgeries in 12 months to fix retinal hemorrhaging and 4 other serious issues, when a referring surgeon made the definite assessment that nothing more could be done to recover the sight in my right eye.
