I have tried numerous times to contact Jim or Joy about an invoice that is past due! They have caller id and never answer my calls or return a call! As a supplier in the building industry, I will never sell this company another product. I definitely do not recommend him for anyone that is hiring a contractor to build their home!!!
Worst builder in Baton Rouge. Many years ago, he was considered a good builder today ( August 2014) he is horrible. Beware, you will loose. At first, Jim was very helpful. Once the contract was signed and the deposit was paid he was gone. He lied numerous times to the homeowner and sub contractors. Run away. Don't walk run. Lengthy delays, poor quality, substandard materials/labor in some cases, doesn't pay vendors/subcontractors and home owner are hit with leans after the sale. You would be safer contracting the job yourself even if you know nothing about construction. A neighbor had to have all of the stucco removed after living in their Jim Fussell home one year because of sub standard work. It cost over 20K to tear down and re do. RUN!

Worst Builder in Baton Rouge – Choosing Custom Homes by Jim Fussell is the worst decision any home builder could ever make. Jim Fussell rarely visited the job site while my home was under construction, and when he did it was only to instruct his crew to make cuts & deviate from the architects plans. The architect--Greg Roberts & Jim Fussell worked closely, but the combination of these two has led to my home having major structural defects. Beware – Very poorly managed. this builder is no longer on the approved builders list for my neighborhood due to poor oversite of the subcontractors, lengthy delays on completion of the homes ( average was a minimum of 17 months from pour of foundation), and poor quality on some items. He also is notorious for trying to charge significant additional fees outside of the contract once the home is complete.
