Not an electrician by no means. Bought a home where they had done the electrical work prior to us moving in. Upgrade service from 60 amp to 100 amp. Long story short you don't put a ground wire in on a hot leg. For those of you who don't know the significance in a green wire ( this is an extremely amateurish mistake) My whole shed was hot and surprised it didn't electrocute me or my 7 month pregnant wife while we were moving in.
