Like most Electric Co-ops Cuivre River gets us (the Members) power reliably and for a better cost than investor own utilities. And the best part? If there is profit, you get it back each year. My last house was on their lines and so is my current and I am happy that I have reliable power for some of the cheapest per kwh prices I have ever paid. I think everyone giving them a bad review has never been an Ameren customer. This company bills at a realistic rate and we’ve never had problems. I can’t say the same at all about Ameren.
Perhaps one (or THE) geedyest companies on the face of the earth. Customer service is dreadful. This is the issue with a monopoly.
If I could give 0 stars, I would! No one here is friendly! Only received short, rude responses, even from leadership. I called 10 times, no one answered and didn’t receive a call back until two weeks later… when they finally answer, they’re rude! After telling the supervisor my complaint, the FIRST thing she said was “she (the previous rep) wasn’t wrong” instead of apologizing for the inconvenience. Never thought I said it, but if you have an option, go with Ameren!
I notice the many bad reviews and would like to share my experience and shed some light on what others can do to hopefully improve the situation. I as of today have had two bad experiences with Cuivre River. The first time the issue was corrected but the fact that it happened period was crazy. I moved to an area in Missouri from Illinois and found out we had to use some company named Cuivre River Electric instead of Ameren.
