We used a storage unit for a short time while we listed our house for sale and moved to a neighboring city. In the period our items were there (about 3 months,) everything was covered in mold. We had to throw away hundreds of dollars of stuff, including our expensive stroller, a mattress, and lots of our children’s favorite toys.
I’ve been a loyal customer for over 6 years and Cube Smart won’t price match a local competitors price. Poor choice, long term and loyal customers don’t matter to Cube Smart They won’t price match a competitor roughly 3 miles away. Also Cube Smart forces customer to get their insurance which adds additional $10 a month. Other facility doesn’t! Cube Smart isnt the best!
I rented a unit on 24000 Lorain Rd. North Olmstead, OH. Cube Smart was awful and their customer service was not helpful either. They provide insurance for water damage but it doesnt work. I bought insurance with them (it was through Great American Insurance Group) and they chose not to cover the damage done to many of my things. Apparently it is common for moisture to enter their units (I was not aware of this or would have rented a temperature controlled unit). Since CubeSmart has taken over my rates have gone up without warning....I am told that rates are Re evaluated every so often and they decide on their own to raise my rate. I don't understand how a company can raise your rate after you pay a late charge of 20%. I have been a customer since 2009 in the same unit but I will be leaving next month...they are really kinda stupid cause I was going to stay a lot longer but now my attorney will get invalved.....too bad ..some were nice people'
