Out of the way, but worth the drive! We like to do things out of the box for spring and fall break, and this was a hit with the family! We stayed at the ranch in a tiny cabin for 2 nights, and went to the cave on Friday. Short drive to the trailhead, and a steep-ish 1/4 mile hike to the entrance. Our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable, and helped all of us understand the importance of not touching the sensitive surfaces. Probably the most hidden and underrated natural feature in all of Utah. It's quite literally in the middle of nothing, 30 miles from the nearest paved road... and 60 miles from the nearest 'town'. But it is absolutely worth it. Our tour guide gave us an awesome and personal tour that was around an hour in length, plus a hike to and from the cave entrance and exit. If you think you’ve "seen it all" when it comes to caves, think again. Our family has explored everything from Mammoth Cave and Timpanogos to Lehman Caves (just across the way in Great Basin National Park), and I can honestly say Crystal Ball Cave blew our expectations out of the water.
