This place is a dump! – If there were zero stars available that is what I would give this gym. The place is dark, dreary, and VERY overcrowed. i was there Tuesday after work and couldn't even get on a treadmill. What is that all about.? I have seen RAVE reviews of other locations. I think that those of us stuck with memberships in a nasty gym should get a discount on our monthly dues. Also, if Crunch reads this, how about getting a proper scale for the ladies locker room? I love this gym! – Spacious, clean and loaded with up-to-date equipment. Not crowded at all, so there is no waiting line. Only one cons: staff is too pushy when it comes to sales. It makes you feel very uncomfortable.

I recently Joined CRUNCH on the upper west side, located on 83rd & Amsterdam Ave. I must say, their quality of equipment, trainers, and the combination of over 70 classes a week were a perfect fit for my needs, My member advisor also mentioned how they recently renovated the location, and it has 4 Group fitness studio's which we can use to stretch and ETC. Gym location has gone down hill quickly – I have been a member of the 83rd St. crunch for almost 5 years, and since they lost half of their gym space recently, the quality of the gym has plummetted. Cardio machines are squished together in high traffic areas. If you want to stretch after your workout - hopefully you enjoy doing this between weight machines without a mat and people stepping over you (I've been relegated to doing this at least 3 times in the past 2 months), or if you are lucky enough to find a spot to stretch,... read more
