Rented a Cruise America RV through with a pick up at Big Boy rental to take around Yellowstone for a long weekend. We've heard mixed reviews of Cruise America in general, but honestly this was an AMAZING experience! The staff was awesome pick up with incredibly easy and answered any questions we had. They were also totally understanding when we were running late and did not have insane fees. Return was also a breeze. June 2025. Air conditioning didn’t work. Many phone calls made. No repairman, so no air conditioning. Bad nights due to the heat. Insects got in the camper because the screens didn’t close. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Among other things, the toilet. Also the expensive rented pots and pans. Leaking boiler, leaking shower. Leaking dump. Curtains don't fit. Our camper broke down during a cross-country trip and Cruise America did not provide a replacement vehicle or authorize alternative transportation. We waited three full days for a resolution and none was offered. With three young children, we ended up stranded and had to make our own arrangements. While stuck in Bozeman, MT, we spent multiple hours on the phone with customer service, repeatedly told a manager would call back, but no call ever came. We are a family of four (two adults and two kids, 7 and 9 years old). We just returned an RV rented from Cruise America. We usually rent from Road Bear, but this time we had no choice, since Cruise America was the only company operating inside Yellowstone. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The RVs are old, poorly maintained, not very clean, and the company provides no real customer support.
