What a neat place to stay! Our group of 6 stayed in the old boat house right by the water. There's a ton of steps to get there but the path is well lit. Ran into the owner and he was super kind and fun to chat with. We were in town for a HAWKEYE football game and we enjoyed that this location was far enough away to relax but close enough to downtown if you want to go out. I'd love to make it out on the lake some summer on the for-rent pontoon or kayaks!
Look, this is the true lake cottage rental experience. It is not a granite countertop tiled shower million dollar cottage. It is true lake cottage sweet perfection! Owner is super kind and nice. And the sunrise is perfect right from the porches. Sunset is perfect from the middle of the lake. Bring your own boat if you like and he will let you tie it from one of the many piers. I should say it is awful so it is harder for me to get a week at the Lake, but I just can't. 12 out of 10.
The views are exceptional. Frank, the owner, is welcoming and friendly. We will be back again.
