South Bronx heavyweight. Massive park with a little bit of everything. Indian Lake is peaceful, good for just sitting. The WPA pool is iconic—huge, landmark building, gets packed. Tennis courts, baseball fields, hills for sledding in winter. Clean enough, bathrooms hit or miss. Some edges feel sketchy but the core is solid. Real neighborhood hub.

Crotona Park is a large and pleasant park in the Bronx, ideal for spending time with family, exercising, or simply relaxing. It has green areas, playgrounds, and spaces for sports activities. Overall, it is a good place for the community, although some areas could benefit from better maintenance. Still, it is a well-used and valuable park for local residents.

The staff is marvelous. I try to pick up trash every time I visit out of homage not only to my fellow citizens, but also in deference to the staff who cannot be everywhere, all the time. For some reason, people who visit, party (in designated areas and elsewhere), and do not take their beercaps and other (dirty diapers, etc.) with them. This is terrible for flora & fauna.
