The huge gaps in the Canadian health care system allow places like this to take advantage of vulnerable people. There aren’t any standards for these “rehabs”, no certified counsellors or psychologists. Yet they charge 10k a head.

As the Gambling Addict referenced in a previous negative review, I can assure you that the entire staff at Crosbie House went above and beyond in their role in my recovery. From the day I arrived to the day I left, I was met with kindness, compassion, respect, and genuine care. We took a gambling addict here. To say that it was a disappointment is putting it lightly. Perhaps it isn’t their area of expertise, which should be identified at the time of admission.

Ben, I understand you were on vacation and anyone calling the Crosbie House tonight would have the misfortune of having to speak to a support worker named “Paul”. All I can do is tell you I probably would be in jail if I wasn’t in Ontario and I had to find out what I know he repeated to someone I love. I will find your email and send you details of the disgusting way he spoke on the phone. I’m in disbelief. I noticed you removed the review I posted anonymously so I’ll put my name on the line just so others can have full transparency. This facility seems to be run by well meaning people but the one size fits all 12 step meetings day in and day out are rather exhausting and there is no recreation opportunity available apart from the on site gym.
