I have been going regularly for nearly 10 years because private therapy is expensive. I have been counselled at my best and my worst, and each time I have walked away the better for it. If you view BL as a system of services you are navigating, you'll quickly find gaps and inconsistencies. But if you go up there to talk to a kind and insightful person that genuinely cares, you will find empathy, connection, and probably a handful of useful skills to try. An absolute joke of a mental health institution… They’re meant to be there to help yet, all I really felt like was another person going through a revolving door spat out to a dead end. Offered a “one-off” appointment by a family doctor supposedly trained in psychiatry.
