This boat ramp is the definition of hit or miss. If you go when it’s not crowded mid day you’ll have an amazing experience on the lake with pleasant staff. But if there’s a crowd expect to wait an hour in line and be turned away as early as 3pm. They are dishonest about operating hours here as well.

This place is very frustrating. They don't take reservations at all. You can get on a wait-list but there is no way of knowing an estimate on when a boat will become available. You can plan a full day with family and friends, pack everything up, drive all the way, and find out they don't have a boat for you. Again, no reservations and no time estimates possible. You can wait all day on a list and not even get to rent a boat. Hope they sell to somebody competent at managing a business because they are wasting space on a public lake.

I hate to leave nasty reviews. But I am incredibly disappointed. My family and I had a whole day planned around renting a boat for the day here. They would not take reservations, but we called the day before to confirm the time they opened and make sure we got there early to get a boat. We drove 2 hours and got there 30 minutes before opening. 20 minutes after scheduled opening time, the park ranger came out and put a “closed” sign on the gate.
