UPDATE: It's been a few more months. Craven Pathology (located in the hospital) is utterly unhelpful in tracking down WHY my bill hasn't been filed to BCBS correctly. The # they gave me to call was a junk phone # trying to sell me stuff. The billing company they've hired is a joke too -- "Professional Billing" or APS Billing. They never submitted the provider's ID# to BCBS; thus my claim was denied. I had to do all the leg work to get this claim filed correctly! I had to track down that #. It's nearly a year since this company apparently provided a service for my doctor after a surgery. They wanted payment. I called and discovered that they didn't have my correct insurance info (which I provided), and that they would refile. My husband has checked repeatedly; they have never filed a claim with my insurance -- the biggest insurer in the state. I keep getting these bills, and yesterday ... the ominous final notice. Ugh.
