First a nice human being then an excellent doctor. Most pain management doctors are board certified specialists and know their stuff well, but Dr Van Dien is beyond that. Unlike most other physicians - not just in pain management - he listens to patients and actually pays attention, does proper and thorough examination, takes time to explain findings including test results in easy to understand language, and then gives enough time to answer any questions patient might have. I saw Dr Van Dien in the beautiful new HMH Health and Wellness Center at Metropark, Iselin this week. I have never had a Dr that really sits and listens and explores a comprehensive plan for my health. Plus, he is young which gives me confidence that he has the energy and has recent knowledge of the best, new treatments.
Dr. Van Dien is thorough and an excellent listener. He always answers all of my questions and makes everything very clear.
