Get directionsThere is vertical cliff climbing involved getting to the arch. Pay close attention to the carved hand holds and where you went up, because you will need those to get down.
Short rough entrance road, maybe 1/10 of a mile? 95 percent of the dirt road to the arch is good for a sedan. I didnt see signs on the main dirt road that prohibited parking along the road. So that may be an option if you're not comfortable driving that last few hundred feet. Arch itself is pretty impressive and well worth the effort to scramble up. Arch was beautiful, but trail was not marked and area was deserted. GPS led us down 4 miles of unpaved road. We stopped at the barbed wire fence and no trespassing sign, but should have turned off the dirt road near the last natural gas drill and driven up to the dirt turnaround near the balancing rock. "Trail" was to the left of the balancing rock and involved a bit of rock scrambling. I would suggest adding some trail signs or other markings.
It was short and a pretty good hike. We didn't get lost but I can see how easy to lose track of the direction or previous prints/trail.
