Had a kid here. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone to get care here. Stay away from duncan hospital. I would recommend anyone to ask properly what they are giving you for shots. Seems that fentanyl is in almost everything but they don't want to tell you until after they give it to you. They don't seem to answer question (well) and usually are contradicting what they say ALOT. My wife had total hip replacement done at CDH yesterday. I cannot say enough positive about the staff and the way we were treated. Right away from the initial appointments getting ready for surgery to the procedure itself, it all ran perfectly. Absolute respect for peoples time in these appointments. Right on time and for exactly as long as they said they would be. Monday April 6th at 1:30pm. Stopped in with my young son to get stitches. I wasn’t sure how the procedure went as we entered and went to registration to ask how the process went to get him registered(as luckily we rarely have to go to the ER) The nurse at the front desk was unbelievably rude and treated us so poorly we decided to leave and head north to the chemainus urgent care, where we were treated like humans and had a fantastic experience. I went to the Duncan hospital yesterday and the nurses, radiologist and general staff were incredible, kind, understanding and caring. I am not sure of the Dr’s name that I ended up seeing but he could probably learn a thing or two from his nursing staff about empathy.
Maternity ward is incredible. Such a compassionate supportive team.
