Best pot roast and fried potatoes in town. You've got to go there. I loved this place for years.
Make sure you have time to spare. Service is slow, food was tasteless
LOVE it! Be sure to order the spuds (delicious!) – There's a reason this place has been there for about 40 years... people love it & are loyal like us. We have been going there off and on since I was little in the 1970's (an after Hogle Zoo visit tradition). A couple reviews here have spoken of poor service. In all our years going there I don't recall ever experiencing what they did. I love to read the western/cowboy comics in the bathrooms, the food is pretty good over-all... but my favorite thing is their side dish of spud... read more
What service? – I wish I'd read the other reviews before trying this restaurant, which my girlfriend said was good (the one time she went before). We were seated quickly...and that was it. We waited over 25 minutes, and had NO other contact with the staff. When we finally walked out, they looked at us and talked about us, but said nothing to us. This place is an embarrasment.
Worst dining experience ever!!! – My wife and I had been wanting to try this place for sometime. When we arrived we were greeted by a host and seated promptly. We reviewed the menu and watched servers bringing other diners their food. 10 minutes passed no server. 20 minutes passed still no server. Server went to take order of 2 tables that had been seated after us. Another 5 minutes passed still no server. At this point I was finally fed up. My wife got up and headed for the door. I let the manager know what was happening an... read more
20th Aniversary ( 1st Date) – We returned to our 1st date spot after being married for 17 years. The service was great. Prices were good. The food was Good. Great experience all around.
Theme restaurant, so-so food – This place has been around forever. The menu and restaurant is decorated with old-time cowboy cartoons. The food is not bad, if you stick with traditional fare like pot-pie and burgers. Steer clear of things like pasta, but the salad bar is not bad. It's a great atmosphere for large families with kids and it can get quite crowded on weekends. No alcohol is served here.
Cowboy Grub Restaurant has a 3.8 star rating with 67 reviews.
