Feeling Ripped Off! – We were having some trouble with our Dryer staying Hot. We called Covina Appliance, as we are long time Covina residents, and knew they had been in business a long time. They came out and wanted to charge us $49.95 Service Call. Then $59.95 for the Part and even still $129.00 labor fee. When I asked how long the repair would take, the service man said 10 minutes! Huge markups – Dryer wouldn't heat up. When they arrived, they quoted $145 plus tax for a part, and $120 in labor to install it. My wife said for that price it must take an hour and half of work, but they said no, it would take about 10 minutes. Based on that statement, my wife paid their $35 service call fee and declined their offer. I was able to pick up the part locally for $32, and even though I'd never worked on this dryer before I was able to install it in less than 5 minutes.
