Very historic and well maintained. Winterset is lovely with the town square and various shopping areas and restaurants. Highly recommend the Urban Cafe. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is delicious! Recommend
Enjoyed traveling to see the bridges at Madison County.
Allow 3 hours to visit mall six bridges, three on each side of town. We started at west end and broke our visit in the middle for lunch then returned next day to do the second three from the east as we were headed back to Omaha. Their app has an informative self-guided tour that location prompted.
The scenic byways does not take you to all of the covered bridges. The arrows on the signs are also very confusing.
