I'm not sure Covenant even deserves a review. In hopes of preventing anyone else from having to go through the difficulties we have had to go through, we will caution prospective buyers from building or buying a Covenant home. The issues we have had are similar to the other one-star reviews. No communication, no follow up on our extensive punch list, using sub-par materials. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Covenant built our home and from day one, we’ve dealt with floor squeaks so loud and severe they echo into the walls. After 2.5 years of excuses, delays, and dismissive responses, they still haven’t fixed it. Their definition of “completion” is blue tape on the floor and silence on emails. Think twice before trusting Covenant with your home.
In short: Not sure if it’s malice or ineptitude… either way I wouldn’t recommend using them. Just spend a half hour googling the company and owner name (there’s a blog/podcast out there with a worse story than this post). In long: The builder is most recently failing to honor the builder warranty. Patio door continues (since the first month we moved in) to leak when it rains, the wood threshold and neighboring wall support are rotting in multiple places (less than a year).
