The hotel is located close to a lot of good restaurants. Check in was good, and I am staying for the week on business. I had paid upfront for breakfast as well. Breakfast is through the Starbucks Bistro. The first morning, the lady who took the order was great, very polite and hospitable. The second morning, the gent who took the order was polite, but it took 20 minutes for the order to materialize, with cold eggs, cold bacon and cold toast. Great hotel in downtown South Bend, walking distance to everything downtown and a short drive to Notre Dame. Modern and well maintained, rooms were clean and comfortable. Very reasonably priced (though suspect rates jump when there's a convention on). Very convenient free street parking - no restrictions between 6pm and 6am, and 2-hour parking during the day - so in theory you could park for free from 4pm to 8am. We were in South Bend for a wedding. We had never been to South Bend. This Courtyard Marriott is very clean and especially customer service oriented. Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful. The location was great for walking to many different restaurants and pubs. We have traveled to many cites and have used many valet services. The valet service at this Courtyard Marriott was hands down the friendliest staff and the fastest we have ever experienced.
