I had an amazing experience at Courtenay Massage Therapy with both Mathew Hibbard, RMT and Tammie York, R.Ac. I first saw Mathew on Oct 29 — he was professional, skilled, and made me feel completely comfortable. His technique was firm yet relaxing, and I left feeling lighter and pain-free. After a frustrating experience with a local GP to address on-going lower back pain, I took a shot-in-the-dark and booked a massage with Aaryn. We deducted fairly early into the appointment that the pressure of a massage was actually causing me distress, (likely due to something skeletal, not muscular) and she gently took the time to help get to the bottom of the root cause of the pain. Absolutely intuitive and strong in the kindest way you would want from a massage therapist. He listens and cares.. Even thought this was my first visit, I felt right at home. As someone who has owned my own massage therapy and spa with many massage therapists plus decades of receiving massage, Willy is amongst the best I have ever had. Could not recommend him more!! Erika is a very thoughtful and thorough practitioner. She is a good listener, she is also great at explaining what she is doing and why she is doing it. She uses many different modalities to address your symptoms during treatments and constantly checks in on how you are doing. I see Stephen Smedly. He is amazing. I went in with a pinched nerve. He made me feel so much better. I and my physo was very impressed with how my back reacted to the massage.. It was moving freer and there was some relief.. Highly recommend if you like a DEEP tissue massage...
