We wanted a retreat to take our 2-year old daughter on and this was the best possible outcome. The property had the friendliest animals that we were able to hang out with and feed. The horses were so well behaved and we even woke up to them at our place. We also saw more than 20 deer on the property. The location is premium as it might be the best situated property in all of Glen Rose, a quintessential, small Texas town. This place was great! Very family focused which a little challenging to find in today's time. It is not the place for high end luxury. It is more about getting back to nature and spending time with family. My boys are already asking when we can go back! And if we can get some rabbits and a goat. Lol.

We absolutely loved our stay at Country Woods Inn! It’s perfect for families—our kids were obsessed with the animals and especially loved holding the rabbits. We stayed at the Farmhouse East wing and were very happy with the cleanliness and features of the lodging. There were lots of books, games, and coloring materials in the farmhouse which I didn’t expect but were fun to enjoy! We stayed in the Santa Fe rail car very cool train themed room. Kitchen full-size bathroom had everything we needed or could ask for had a cool little back patio on it to sit out on at night and it was kind of back away from the main entrance so it was very quiet. The staff is super friendly. They were on top of everything we asked they even had some animals on site that you could interact with all around. It was a very cool set up.
