My family and I went the end of October 2025 for our 2nd visit.. It's a great place to bond with family, relax, read a book and sit on the front porch and see the deer. The breakfast on Saturday and it was so nice having someone cook pancakes for me for once :). Downtown Glen Rose is a gem and was a great place to spend the afternoon. We will be back!

It is a rustic cabin experience but the grounds, Saturday Breakfast, and animals and room to explore for kids are great.

We stayed in the Santa Fe rail car very cool train themed room. Kitchen full-size bathroom had everything we needed or could ask for had a cool little back patio on it to sit out on at night and it was kind of back away from the main entrance so it was very quiet. The staff is super friendly. They were on top of everything we asked they even had some animals on site that you could interact with all around. It was a very cool set up. We had the most amazing stay at Country Woods Inn! Our two boys loved all the animals and the location was perfect. We enjoyed time on the river building "damns" and splashing around. You can easily walk to the downtown area to eat and visit some of the shops. Highly recommend Baked for an amazing breakfast or lunch. I do have to say do not come expecting a luxury experience.
