My family and I stumbled across country sunshine on our trip home back to Fl from a 10 day camping trip in IA. We were in need of a few days rest from the road. The cabins are perfect! Absolutely beautiful. The area is peaceful and the owners are fabulous! They set out some toys for my toddler to play with and left my fiancé and I a bottle of wine! I have stayed with Melodie and Phil now twice in the past month! Once on my own with one of my fur babies, and the second with my Husband and 2 of our fur babies! Melodie and Phil are so kind and caring and welcoming, they are THE BEST I’ve met in the business! They take time out of their busy days to come poke their head in on the property to make sure all things are well and will check in personally to welcome you at least once during your stay. Very nice and thoughtfully done. Beautiful antiques. If you want a country themed venue with all the little things done right, check this place out.
A fantastic place to camp, stay in a quaint cabin along a clear creek or browse the amazing finds at the open-air flea market. (It must be a regional thing, but in these parts they call them “yard sales”.) items for sale are top quality: no junk! They sell furniture too! Let the kiddos play in the shaded playground right behind the main building. They might catch a crawdad in the amazing stream! The place is super nice. Not the most child friendly because of all the decorations etc. that cannot be disturbed. Be sure to communicate with the owners before moving or using anything. They invested a lot in this place and are protective of it.
