Loved the cougar gym and the people in it. Such a great place to learn the sweet science. I spent 4 years working with the late great Paul Hortie and his amazing staff of coaches. This was in the mid 80’s Glad to see it’s still running so strong!!!
Cougar's boxing gym has the title of not just being the oldest but also one of the best boxing gyms in the city. On my first day, i vividly recall one the coaches, Vincent, who (while assessing my footwork) respectfully acknowledging and correcting my imperfect form, he then leaned in and said, "we'll fix that footwork and then we're going to make you a champion".
