Just left Cottman Trans of Lancaster and truly felt informed, taken care of, and had the knowledge of what was done and what I needed for the future. The staff at Cottman were professional and kind enough to take my situation into consideration on what needed to be done. I will recommend them to everyone.
Great story. 100 miles away from home, and the transmission starts to fail. We called Scott Stillwell of Cottman Transmissions and asked for help. Sunday morning at 8:00 Scott gets out of bed, opens his shop and asks us to meet him. He does a complete diagnostic, explains in detail what the problem is and explains how we can successfully manage to drive our vehicle home safely. These guys are awesome. Had one of my transmissions rebuilt here. There did an excellent job. 8 years or later, the car is still shifting great (for the 2nd owner since) and over 50k miles. I now have been sending these guys work from my shop (I dont do transmission overhauls, replacements, ect) everyone has been very happy. The one person at of many had an issue, they went back, the work was out of warranty, but the guys took care of them no questions asked. Best place in town for transmission work. Cottman has provided excellent service and advice to me over many years. I am extremely grateful for the over the phone diagnosis of our van which failed us while traveling from New Hampshire. Scott was able to correctly advise and repair the transmission problem. Although I have a personal bias because I am Scott's sister, I know that he is a caring and generous person whose judgement I totally trust and support.
