I brought my car in to have winter tires installed today and was told by the service gal that my spring/summer tires were “over 10 years old” and that the shop would refuse to reinstall them in the spring even though the tread is still in good condition. This immediately raised concerns, as my vehicle is a 2019, and after checking the tire sidewalls myself, the DOT code clearly shows the tires were manufactured in 2022, not 10+ years ago. I was just in a few days ago after purchasing four new all season radials. $$$$ First, I would like to mention that I am disabled, as this is part of why I was so unhappy with the whole situation. It has been a few years, since I have purchased tires at costco and the last time I was there on East Sprague the set up was very different and much easier to navigate. They changed their policy and no longer install new tires purchased somewhere else. I was not notified of this change until after I dropped my car off. Costco Tire’s quality of service has gone downhill since I’ve used them in the past.
The worst. EVERY time I come here is a problem the past couple years. I don’t care if I have bought tires here, I will now pay to go have them seasonally switched out at Les Schwab!!!
A couple years ago, my wife needed to swap snow to summer tires. The snows were purchased at that Costco. We picked up the car and the TPMS light was on. It wasn't on before. Costco gave us a fantastic run around trying to diagnose the issue, suggesting we go to another Costco location to see if it was an issue with their computer and not our tires.
