Lovely place for a pre theatre meal
Went here with friends and was really disappointed. The place was dead, uncomfortable chairs and a limited selection of drinks. With high expectations based on other reviews I was expecting more than paper menus, canteen style food, which whilst presented nicely was sorely lacking in flavour and substance. Lovely atmosphere very attentive staff, excellent quality of food will be going back and recommending to friends and family
This restaurant is like stepping back in time. It is in the Masonic building and it is very traditional. It is a lovely restaurant. Staff are very attentive, formal, friendly and professional. The standard of service is exceptional. Service was quick. The food was excellent and very well presented. We had the set meal and it had plenty of choice. I had the Housin Duck Salad and then the Lamb Cutlets. Both were very tasty and ample portions. Presentation of the food was excellent.
Treated my Mum and God Mother to Mother's Day lunch today. The ladies enjoyed their meals, as did my brother, but the veggie option I had was a fairly bland pasta dish which was a little oily. The restaurant was everything I'd hope for but was slightly spoiled by music that you might play in the car, but isn't suitable background music for comfortable eating and conversation. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, and I'd like to return to enjoy this little tike capsule from a bygone era.
