Welcome to Cooter Brown’s Rib Shack! Cooter Brown’s ribs have been a perennial favorite in Jacksonville, Alabama, since April 2000, winning the annual “Taste of Calhoun County” multiple times. As travelers from across the United States have made the trek to our ugly little shack, they’ve come away impressed, finding a true Rib Shack with a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and some of the best ribs they have ever eaten.

Rib and draft beer heaven! The ribs are the best I have ever had anywhere, no kidding. This place is a gem. It's one of those rare finds you come across in a small town that's one of a kind. The food is fantastic, the service is great, and the staff is friendly, but the beer selection is the biggest surprise! 10 draft beers to choose from, most of them local treasures! If you are ever in North/Central Alabama, you HAVE to try this place.
Good Eats Cooter Brown's has very good food. I have not had anything I did not like. If you order something hot, be prepared to get HOT, unlike other places. The fried corn on the cob is excellent. Price is resonable. The interior is small and very close. Go early to avoid a crowd. Located on Hwy 204 going toward Hwy 431.
