I'd look elsewhere. John initially responded to my request and seemed very helpful and told me what he would need to do my small project. I then responded with the information which apparently was not what he needed, but he was both unable and unwilling to communicate in a way that would allow me to provide that information. His responses were short and condescending and eventually he stopped responding all together. We used CSES for the engineering of the changes to our 1921 home in the Meadowbrook neighborhood. John came out for the site visit, saw what we were proposing, a two story addition, and let us know that it would be possible. John worked with me a couple times when I was getting the plans drawn up until we had enough detail so that they could make the structural calculations. We reached out to John for help with a remodel of our 1940’s home. He stated a site visit would be required before anything could be started (we had a full set of architectural drawings detailing existing and proposed changes). The fee for the visit was $450, but when he arrived all we did was sit at the kitchen table and look at the drawings we had already emailed to him (it was immediately apparent he had not reviewed our project and made no effort to inspect the existing home).
