Evan was very helpful in talking to us about our project, giving us multiple options to make sure he understood what we wanted before he completed the engineering. During construction he was available as questions came up so we were able to move ahead with confidence and complete our project.
Really positive experience working with Evan. He was very knowledgeable and clearly explained the condition of our basement - specifically areas of concern that needed professional work vs minor issues that could be easily solved with simple repairs. He sent a detailed report shortly after the visit and also answered a few follow-up questions we had. Would recommend CSES to any of our friends and family who need a structural engineer in the future.
We’ve worked with this company multiple times, and communication is incredibly important to us. They are quick to respond, always clear when we need clarification, and very easy to reach by phone. We especially love working with Evan—we’ve trusted him with several complex projects, including an 8-foot foundation wall and our aerial studio rigging. I truly can’t speak highly enough of Evan or the company as a whole.
I'd look elsewhere. John initially responded to my request and seemed very helpful and told me what he would need to do my small project. I then responded with the information which apparently was not what he needed, but he was both unable and unwilling to communicate in a way that would allow me to provide that information. We used CSES for the engineering of the changes to our 1921 home in the Meadowbrook neighborhood. John came out for the site visit, saw what we were proposing, a two story addition, and let us know that it would be possible. John worked with me a couple times when I was getting the plans drawn up until we had enough detail so that they could make the structural calculations.
