Deregulation can be a pain as you get the joy of chasing a new rate every 6 months or so. This is our third electric company and the experience has been pretty much the same as the previous two. The transition to Startex went smoothly and the service itself has been fuss free. My advice - go with whoever offers you the best rate and is reputable. Swithed me from a fixed rate plan to a variable rate plan without my knowledge (even though a completed and mailed a mailer to continue fixed contract). Will not correct invoices and was charged almost $900 for two months of supply only. Shady business practices. BEWARE!

I was with Startex for 3 years when I was in the army. During those 3 years, I never had a problem with them. My bill was always the same, add or minus $10. When I left, I was in a hurry, so I forgot to contact the company to tell them I no longer needed their services. 2 months later, I get a bill for $150. I contacted them and told them I already lived out of state but that I will be paying the balance. They emailed me back the following day and said it was all good, just email them a copy of my orders or current electric ... read more

Im not suprised all the reviews on this site are horrible. My particular issue is with the call center manager Lia Palma. She is a horrible individual who will fire good employees for her own reasons and make up something if you do nothing wrong. She can't even prove the claims she makes before firing you.
