My 85 year old mom's physical and mental health and has greatly deteriorated since she had knee replacement surgery. She was perfectly fine and living independently prior to the surgery. She has been in a nursing home for 2 months recuperating and has made very little progress . The effects of the anesthesia has worsened her dementia symptoms. I had a hip replacement by Dr. Archibeck when he was with NM Orthopedics that was long overdue due to COVID restrictions. I was struggling to walk with a cane at the time. I came in with many specific questions and a lot of fear. Dr. Archibeck patiently answered everything with detailed information. He's professional and takes your care and his responsibility seriously. He did an excellent job, subtly aligning and lengthening my leg in the process which improved my posture and alignment. Dr. Archibeck replaced my knee in 2016 while at NM Orthopaedics, and did an excellent job. His pre- and post-operation manner was thoughtful and informative. I am now seeking to replace my other knee, and only wish I had his opinion on who else I might turn to in Santa Fé or Albuquerque.
Dr. Archebeck replaced my right hip three weeks ago. He is an excellent surgeon and articulates well. His staff is wonderful I never waited long for a call back (his nurse Jenna is wonderful). Felt safe and lucky to have him as a surgeon
Dr. Archibeck came highly recommended, and that he is qualified and/or talented, I have no doubt. However, I was quite disappointed with with my appointment, and I am actively seeking another Orthopedic Surgeon. He was rushed, interrupted me a few times, tried several times to prematurely end the conversation before giving me any real data to consider. Dr. Archibeck did the first one years ago in Albuquerque and not a day goes by that I don’t wish he had stayed and done the second one.
No feelings for patients only thinks about his work. Doesn’t care if there is something wrong just cares about his surgery. I have no feeling in my lower leg from his cutting a never but he doesn’t care it’s now been 3 years and still have no feeling. Great guy but doesn’t care about his patience
Excellent experience. Thank you for the great care from you and Dr. Jefferson! Hip in full recovery mode and look forward to pain free hip going forward. Already no pain in hip joint just some tissue and muscle healing.
Dr. Carothers replaced my left knee in November 2021. Every aspect of the experience exceeded my expectations. My pain level after the surgery was low and my recovery was swift and without any complications. I have to attribute much of that to Dr. Carothers and his talented staff.
