Trying to claim a TOD with ComputerShare has been a full‑blown circus. Their website can’t even get basic medallion stamp information right. Then, in a single phone call, I was told three separate times that “no TODs exist,” despite the mailing address clearly indicating otherwise. Then instructions to fill out forms based on whatever version of reality the representative was operating in at that moment. And the final insult? The worst trading company ever!! I have been trying to cash out my aunts stocks for over a year! First I couldn’t get anyone to answer questions, then one operator would tell me one thing , then another operator would tell me something else. Having to do everything with a Medallion stamp is just another way for them to make it difficult for to get your money. I finally have everything sent in and I called to check on it. This company is inept and antiquated. Too many interactions must be done through snail mail, and when you do follow the instructions provided and send them the required form (I sent it to Canton, MA office), there is absolutely no feedback nor status you can track like all other financial institutions provide. They do not acknowledge receipt of your paperwork, let alone process it. There is no way to email anyone for help; you must call and be subjected to helpdesk hell. This company is a joke. As another reviewer indicated, Computershare takes you and your money hostage and I can't agree more. Customer service is appalling (if you can even get through); listening skills and knowledge are lacking and there is absolutely no accountability. I was told to write the company by mail with a request and never heard back after over 4 months. Computershare does not use modern technology, so expect any transaction to take about 4 times longer than if they had email accounts. Everything has to be done ... read more
