Went looking for a roofer back in early spring after seeing some curled shingles from the driveway. Got three estimates and Ernie was really the only one who got up on the roof before quoting. Took about two weeks from signing to the install day. They kept me up to date about the material delivery and when the crew would show. Install itself was one long day, gutters cleared out by evening, and the roof looks straight and tight.
there was a slow leak near the chimney for months. got a few quotes around Lake in the Hills and these guys actually went up and found the bad flashing. fixed it same week and no more drips
used A Competitive for a full tear off and reshingle on our house. roof was probably 22 years old and starting to lose granules pretty bad, you could see piles of them by the downspouts. got a few quotes and theirs wasnt the cheapest but it wasnt the most expensive either, somewhere in the middle. what sold me was Ernie who came out actually got on the roof and took pictures instead of just eyeballing it from the driveway. crew showed up early on a tuesday, had the old shingles off by lunch. two days total for the whole job.... read more
