Started out really loving this vet, as they were able to get my dad's dog in while he was visiting on an emergency call. They also saw my dog for an annual visit and were very thorough. Most recently, my dog cracked her back molar and were told by emergency vets nearby to contact our vet in the morning. I called and was greeted pretty rudely and was told that there was no vet available. I clarified that even for an emergency current patient we couldn't be seen? I was met with a simple no. Edit: After taking some time to reflect, I realize my original review may not have been completely fair. I wrote it while I was scared, upset, and heartbroken over what was happening with my dog. He means more to me than people who aren't animal lovers may understand, and my emotions got the best of me. To be clear, no one at the hospital asked me to write this update. We called to hopefully get our dog who’s vet was booked an emergency visit for concerning behavior. The website lists emergency services, so we figured it was a safe bet. The receptionist said they do not offer emergency services. It’s called Companion Animal Hospital… but the receptionist also told us that they’re not a hospital. Make that make sense. False advertising at its finest when people are at their most fragile.

I'm only putting this review five star so it gets pushed to the top but please read what I have to say before you make a decision because I am a dog father and I love my dog like a son. I’ve been bringing my dog to Companion Animal Hospital in Groton, CT for a persistent coughing/retching issue accompanied by nasal congestion.
