I have a mild case of alcoholism. I still work, I maintain a steady income. I've never been arrested or had issues with child protective. I take care of my children and fully insure their safety. I believe my alcohol problem is out of control. I attempted their group sessions. I was not able to talk or put in my input beyond my greeting. Unless you are legally obligated to attend...they will not help you.

12-step programs are so harmful to people, telling them constantly that they are powerless, insane, defective, selfish, and dishonest. Nobody ever gets better in such a psychologically abusive environment, and the rehab racket is very profitable because people don't know enough to stand up for their basic patients' rights. I am ashamed to have worked for Rome Memorial Hospital after learning that they are involved in this scam.

Not very accommodating for people that are voluntarily seeking help and who have jobs on off shifts, or are traveling from 30 minutes or more away cause its the closest place to get help. Requirements for meetings are ridiculous if u dont live close, sometimes having to go in twice in 1 day, hours apart like u have all day to hang out waiting between appointments. Not making the program personalized to accommodate jobs and such only sets people up for failure and relapse. Thought the idea was to help people.
