Common Ground has been a great place to train BJJ and bond with other students. It really feels like a family here. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, especially Sally and Alex, who are great instructors. I’m a huge fan of the ecological approach and find that the training games force me to actively problem-solve and think on my feet (or more often, on my back). I really love this place and highly recommend checking it out!
I attended the NOGI fundamentals class as a drop in from Australia. Alex and Sally were both fantastic to deal with and set a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere to train in. Broad range of experience in the class and the other students were also very welcoming to a new comer like myself. Curriculum was detailed and interesting. 10/10 will be back to train again.
I get private lessons with Sally through the Blueprint program and it's so worth it. As a woman it's hard to find classes so I just go with my friend and we can do the drills together instead of rotating with the men and now we have the confidence and skills to got to any class. Sally is a really great teacher.
Very high level coaching and partners. Super friendly & would recommend to anyone looking to train in the Pasadena area or coming in from out of town.
My 3 year old son has been taking the toddler jiu jitsu class for the past month. Sally and Alex are super friendly and great with the kids implementing jiu jitsu techniques and ideas through play. Our son just started so he’s still a bit shy but he’s been getting more and more comfortable each class and we can tell this is great exposure for his social skills as well. Looking forward to more classes!
