An agency whose work is to find a match for hospital clients to a facility wanted to place Harold and the amount they have agreed was $ 4,500 less 30% for the agency ($1,350.00).The 2 weeks payment for us is $2,150 or $ 153.00 a day which includes room, food, care and a PT from Sutter Care came almost everyday to walk him. Comforting Hands Forever came highly recommended by my father’s hospice service when his needs became so great that we could no longer care for him in his home. We found them to be very warm and caring, and after calling around to several other similar organizations we found the cost to be quite reasonable. I’m puzzled by the one star review above and can only guess that everybody’s response to the stress of watching a loved one’s decline is different. Comforting Hands? More like Greedy Hands and I would mot recommend them. The staff seem nice but they are being done no favors under the current management. Our experience: my 95-year-old friend was referred by a Kaiser social worker to stay at “Comforting Hands” for two weeks upon his hospital release. With a 30% cut for the social worker, my friend was charged $4,500 for two weeks! (read: you should absolutely negotiate the price for a loved one in the same situation).
