This was not the best hotel. The people who were at the desk were amazing, but the carpets are dirty, the rooms have very thin walls, and you can hear what is happening in the other room, the shower never got cold, not to mention, the housekeepers never changed my sheets when asked and did not clean my room as it should’ve, and I was just as respectful and never acted UGLY. Not to mention, if you come outside of your entrance, you will see dead bugs and whenever you need more washcloths, they want you to return the old ones ... read more

Honestly not bad. I'm a Choice Rewards member and have stayed at lots of Choice Hotels, most being Comfort Suites. None have yet to disappoint. Though this one is older and undergoing some renovations, it was a great stay. A little further from Galveston than I was expecting but that's on me. Beds were comfortable. Water was hot. Staff was great. Breakfast was ok. Overall a great place despite being older.

Way below par. Our first room had no working TV or phone. We ended up being moved to another room with working TV and phone. Beds were not comfortable at all. Door frames are metal and most were bent in quite a bit by the latch, which gives the impression they've been broken into many times. Has an awful musty/moldy/mildewy smell throughout. They will be going renovations on the near future which are desperately needed. Candlewood Inn and Suites are usually pretty decent. This one, not so much.
