This is a very clean hotel with friendly staff and great breakfast, in a great location in Manistique. Right next to the Manistique Lighthouse and very convenient to downtown. It is our favorite place to stay when we visit.
Hotel room smelled incredibly bad like old smoke even though Hotel boasts about it being a "Breathe Easy, 100% smoke free" hotel. When asked if we could change rooms, we were told the only other room available had "power problems ". In addition to the bad smells and service, the room air conditioner was not working very well.
For awhile now, Great Lakes Fireworks has worked along Manistique Fireworks Committee in providing this quaint towns 4th of July fireworks displays. Unfortunately they were postponed this year. With that, we’ve always booked our crews at this hotel. And as the office manager, I was finally able to come up & shoot this display alongside my husband. Comfort Inn was a wonderful location for what we did. Julie, at the front desk, was accommodating in referring places to dine, trails to venture and also entertainment in the area. We stayed another night. The breakfast accommodations were excellent. The lady in charge kept it stocked and very clean. We have seen a lot from other motels, this one is top notch.
