I had PRK in 2012. There was no discussion of me not being a good candidate for corrective surgery. I had a lot of pain and light sensitivity afterwards - it definitely was not a quick recovery. Clear vision only lasted about three years. I've been in glasses since 2015 and regularly regret the decision. Due to the changes in my eyes post-surgery, I can no longer go back to contact lenses. Other vision providers have since told me that I should never have been approved in the first place.
