From 2006-2016, CIU has a troubling pattern of financial mismanagement resulting in multiple layoffs almost every year in that time frame, most recently with the layoffs of 4 faculty members and numerous staff. All the while resources are poured into an athletics department that I think the administration wrongly believes is the answer to CIU's financial problems.
