The representatives are wonderful! The policies are terrible! I was left with a $1000+ gas bill after 8 months of not receiving bills in the mail (assuming it was still on auto-pay); turns out it was not on auto pay. I paid $400 on it on the 22nd of July after being told they would do a payment plan when I called in for my next payment. In August, they cut me off on the 21st when I have screenshots of their app saying I had till the 22nd to pay the bill. Called in, they won't turn it on without FULL PAYMENT.
I've always found the representatives friendly and informative. Their website allows customers to start, stop, and move service which is very convenient.
I have been a customer of Colombia Gas at my current location for 6 months. I checked my May bill and discovered it was $931.00 (I am on the budget plan, so I pay the same amount year round, even in the summer, so no winter surprises). To say I was surprised to find my May statement was more than my house payment was an understatement. I want to preface by saying I forgot to pay my bill. I simply forgot. It happens. It isn't the first time and likely not the last. That is my fault and not on anybody else-and certainly not Columbia Gas-as they DO mail past due and date of termination notices. I also need to say I have been a Columbia Gas customer for 16 years. When im not using the service they tell me I will be charged $350 ro reconect the service when all the do is turn a valve, she said i don't care. If you turn your service off and reconnect within 8 months in the same namebqe will charge you. So now im spending money for a service im not getting.
I had an oversight on my bills. I missed paying the gas. I took care of it as soon as they opened the following morning. Paid amt due reconnect and a new security deposit, I waited all day to have services restored. I called again with two hours before close and was told my service was showing the order in for today. She said yes I would be turned on today. So no hesitation getting someone out to turn me off immediately. But I took care of my end immediately. my gas was turned off on Feb.6,2018 and I got it paid on feb.7 so I can get it turned back on and it has been two days and still nothing.
I have owned my restaurant for 4 years, and every year have had the same issue with getting someone out to turn on my gas for the winter. After waiting almost an hour on the phone 4 separate times over the last 2 weeks I finally got through to someone this morning. I was given an open ended appointment for the next 2 days, and was told that should I miss this "appointment" I would be charged $30.
