County Planner Seth Lane is fantastic! I called to inquire about zoning on a commercial parcel and he called me back on his day off and then followed up when he was back in the office since he couldnt locate the info needed on his laptop remotely. Goes above and beyond to answer questions and find out answers he doesnt already know. Rare to find that level of customer care in this market and Seth is a great representative of Columbia County

Do not use their inspection website. Does not work at all will always tell you the inspection set the next day, but there is never any inspection set. 11 different inspections call up there, they say the website's fixed. It is not huge waste of time big revenue maker for the county. Just show up in person, make them hire some more staff.

I’m not typically the type of person who leaves bad reviews, but someone I believe to be Matt Forsyth came to inspect our well and was so rude!! He didn’t introduce himself, thought he was inspecting our generator and when he found out it was our well behind the house, he sped off then had to turn around to find what he was actually inspecting and complained about how he “didn’t have time for this.” He failed our inspection and when asked a follow up question immediately deemed “its not my problem.” Yikes. I've been calling for 3 days in a row to get some information. Nobody answers so I leave a message and nobody ever calls back. Considering I'm a resident homeowner who pays taxes which is responsible for paying thier salary, I find this unacceptable.
