Called numerous times, I went in physically numerous times and they told me “you make too little”..thats not possible (also everyone in town was baffled they said that) when I asked for a FREE attorney which btw isn’t because they make you pay fees out your A. Terrible communication and I’m left to see what “just happens” DO NOT GO HERE. No one will help you. It’s so bad I could cry. Another note no one is ever in the office. Collecting a paycheck and helping the public are two different things people.
Everyone I worked with from this office was great. Receptionist was nice and got me to the correct defender while the legal staff was honest and open about proceedings. Had the court case resolved very quickly as well
If you are unfortunate enough to require a public defender from this Office, you will find your case railroaded & your Rights violated at every stage of the proceedings. This is due to the Public Defender’s Office employees (Madison Ellery Gurley) openly & knowingly depriving Clients of their Rights, Discriminating against their Clients & intentionally providing ineffective assistance of counsel. That depends on what happens now. He is really great, until yesterday. It was like he didn't even care how I felt and what we as a couple are going through. So we will wait to see what happens. Overall I think he is pretty fair.
