Huge thanks to the Colony Inn Hotel Motel. Fergus went above and beyond to save us after our travel agent mistakenly booked us into their neighbour’s so called ‘accommodation’ (see previous review). Even though the hotel was fully booked, Fergus offered us a house just down the street which was perfect for our group. The pub itself is the real deal: authentic Aussie atmosphere, cold drinks, and hands down the best food in town. The T-bone steak was next level, absolutely banging. Dropped in on our way up Nth and was a great place to stay. The room was nice and the bed was comfy. Went down stairs to the pub for dinner and food was great. Loved that you could buy half a Parma and was still a really decent size.
I can't review the accommodation as I didn't stay here. I will state that I feel that I was ripped off at dinner. I ordered "Beer Battered Fish (w salad, chips & tartare)." Large size, according to the menu $26. Along with that a bottle of Cider. Total price $38. I queried the price and the person serving me said that I had been charged $2 for the tartare sauce. Had a wonderful stay at the Colony Inn. Food and drinks were lovely and service was brilliant. Highly recommend!
