So glad that we chose this spot over the other hotels in the area. Talk about CHARM! There were so many little details that made this experience feel like a home away from home. The soft lighting in the room, the extra little cotton balls and qtips, the black embroidered makeup cloth by the sink. The mini fridge was super cute as well! The pillows were king sized and fluffy. If you are looking for a unique, beautifully restored, comfortable bit of nostalgia the Colony House is it! From check-in, splashing in the pool, and relaxing in perfectly mid-century designed room you feel like “these are the good ol’ days.” Modern amenities and charm are all around to ensure everyday comforts, but without the hustle. LOVED our stay and the convenience to downtown and the trails of Mill Mountain.
This was recommended to us by friends who live in town as out of town guests. It’s pretty conveniently located and the aesthetic is cute. It’s “pet friendly” but paying for the pet package upgrade did us no favors. The dog bed offered was pretty gross so we declined and thankfully had brought our own, there were no treats, and the water bowl was also gross as well. A++++ unbelievable service, rooms, clean pool, and staff. There’s someone behind the scenes that has poured their heart and soul into this little lodge, and I firmly believe it is going to pay off. Already booked my second trip there in just a month for my birthday.
Would definitely stay again! Comfortable bed, great shower, and friendly staff. Everything you want when passing thru Roanoke on a long drive
